"Hebrew Through Movement" Specialist
Are you passionate about teaching Hebrew in an innovative and engaging way as part of a special and dynamic program? Kerem Shalom in Concord, MA is seeking a dynamic Hebrew Through Movement Specialist to join our vibrant "Hebrew School Reimagined" community.
Job Description:
As a trained Hebrew Through Movement Specialist, you will lead energetic and interactive sessions designed to teach Hebrew language and culture through movement to our young students. Using a proven curriculum, you will engage learners of all ages in fun activities that reinforce language acquisition, vocabulary, and cultural understanding.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead Hebrew Through Movement sessions for various age groups, including children, teens, and adults.
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with educators and clergy to integrate Hebrew Through Movement into our educational programs.
- Maintain communication with participants and families to enhance learning experiences.
Qualifications:
- Ideally trained in "Hebrew Through Movement" Curriculum (we will train if needed!)
-Passion and love of Hebrew language
- Experience teaching or facilitating in a Jewish educational setting.
- Energetic and engaging teaching style.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Time Commitment (2024-25 School Year):
- Mondays, 4:15-6:15pm
- 24 class sessions (September through May), plus two faculty learning sessions or meetings
- Classes meet in person at Kerem Shalom (659 Elm St., Concord)
Compensation:
$50-80/hr, commensurate with experience
- For undergraduate college students: up to $50/session transportation reimbursement if needed
