The Solomon Schechter Day School of Bergen County (SSDS) is seeking a qualified third/fourth-grade general studies teacher to cover for Maternity Leave beginning at the end of August 2020 for approximately 8 weeks. Candidate must have a New Jersey teaching certificate (or equivalent) and will work in a collaborative, warm, academic environment.
• Teach multiple curriculums in language arts, social studies, and mathematics, following both pre-planned lessons and creating new lesson plans.
• Foster respect for others, a commitment to values, and tikkun olam (repairing the world)
• Communicate regularly with parents through a newsletter, email, and phone calls in partnership with the Judaic Studies Teacher and the Principal.
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a positive learning atmosphere in the classroom.
