Songleader

Congregation Beth Israel is an egalitarian Conservative synagogue in Scotch Plains, NJ

We’re looking for an engaging, guitar-playing songleader to add music and energy to our Religious School on Sunday mornings, 9-12pm. You would meet with individual classes to teach and review songs related to upcoming holidays as well as coordinate with the leadership to supplement our special events. When necessary you would sub in for one of our clergy to lead tefillah for 3rd-5th graders.

Pay is commensurate with experience, starting at $40/hour.

This position comes with all sorts of potential for additional opportunities to the right qualified person - Bar/Bat Mitzvah tutoring outside of Religious School, helping to redesign the youth holiday programming, etc.
