About Onward Israel:

Onward Israel was launched in 2011 as a framework for six to ten week meaningful experiences for students and young adults in Israel. The goal of Onward Israel is to provide participants with an immersive and transformative resume-building internship experience in Israel.

Onward Israel, a partnership between lead philanthropists and foundations, Jewish communities and organizations around the world, offers a competitive and attractive venue for young people seeking such experiences at affordable prices. While meeting the individual needs of the participants and allowing them to advance their resumes, Onward Israel programs also feature inspiring educational enrichment opportunities, programs designed to engage participants with Israel and to provide them with a framework to explore Israel as part of their individual, personal, professional, and Jewish life journeys.

During the Winter 2020-21 and Summer 2021 seasons, Onward Israel will be implementing new Hybrid Programs. These programs will continue to offer individuals the experience outlined above with the added benefit of continuing their internship remotely in their home country. This will allow more participants to connect and engage with Israel and build their resumes while remaining flexible to various schedules and the overall surge in Remote work. In order to successfully reach our goals, Onward Israel USA, Inc. seeks to hire a full-time Programs Coordinator.

Main responsibilities:

1) Work with North American Director of New Hybrid Initiatives & Internal Programs and the Onward Israel Operations Team on implementation of Onward Israel New Hybrid Programs
2) Maintain systems for screening and registration, and conducting interviews with applicants for Onward Israel New Hybrid Programs, Winter Programs, and potential new Fellowship Programs
3) Programmatic support for Internal Theme-based Programs including screening, registration, and working with Onward Israel Internal Staff and External Program Organizers on various elements of program planning
4) Assist with general office tasks throughout the year, including tracking document and payment submission across multiple accounts, CRM maintenance, pre and post program communication, and troubleshooting participant issues
5) Handle day-to-day interactions with leads, applicants, participants and parents with an understanding of Onward Israel program dynamics
6) Work with Hillel professionals, campus influencers, global partners and existing partner organizations to promote recruitment year round, including potential campus visits and conference attendance
7) Expand Onward Israel’s reach by identifying and building recruitment strategies and relationships with various campus professionals, Onward Israel alumni and other student groups
8) Work with Vice President for Marketing and Internal Onward Israel Programs Coordinators on marketing, recruitment, and engagement strategies

Onward Israel will prioritize the following characteristics among interested candidates:
1) Prior administrative experience overseeing ongoing projects and large amounts of data in an office environment with strong organizational skills, follow through and attention to detail
2) Ability to think creatively and problem solve
3) Ability to work as part of a national and global team and still handle individual challenges
4) Understanding of the age group for Onward Israel and how to market to them, particularly about programs and opportunities
5) Prior experience conducting interviews and understanding of sensitivities during this process (including cultural, religious, etc.) a huge plus
6) Proficiency in Salesforce, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Drive
7) Prior experience with fundraising and development a plus, but not required
8) Direct experience in immersive experiences outside of North America. Preference given to alumni of an Onward Israel program or long term Israel based program

Additional Information:
- B.A. or equivalent
- 2-4 years prior work experience
- Preference will be given to candidates based in New York
- Some travel will be expected
