For more than 25 years the Bet Shira Early Childhood Center (ECC) has fostered a warm and nurturing environment with a strong Jewish identity. In our ECC children are given the opportunity to reach their full potential through the creation and implementation of an age-appropriate curriculum that capitalizes on our students’ natural curiosity and desire for learning. Our extraordinary staff collaborates to ensure each child is challenged.
Our next ECC Director will have the opportunity to design an innovative program to be the face of our program, encompassing several key aspects. The Director is responsible for the overall operation of the Early Childhood Center including but not limited to:
You are responsible for the development and implementation of the curriculum for children of classrooms from 3 months of age through Pre-K.
You maintain our school accreditations. Along with your team, you keep the school organized, aligned, and safe at all levels. It is your mission to handle the logistics and details that meet and exceed the community's standards.
You will recruit, hire, and lead a team of expert teachers in the Early Childhood Center, an infant through Pre-K school. You give them scheduled, formal feedback and informal feedback that helps them grow while feeling supported in their work.
You will be the person responsible for communicating with the ECC parents and teachers. This will include regularly scheduled communications as well as potentially challenging and confidential communications with parents regarding potentially challenging situations.
You are at the very top of your field in both aptitude and attitude.
You set high expectations for your teachers and staff and you have the ability to cultivate an environment where teachers and staff collaborate in a positive manner with a focus on expert early childhood curriculum.
You probably hold an advanced degree in early childhood education or educational leadership. More importantly, you model lifelong learning for your teachers and students through ongoing formal education, informal education, and a deep spirit of reflection.
You exemplify professionalism, you understand the value of growing a positive relationship with a highly energized parent organization.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite
45 DCF Training Hours
5 years of experience as a Director
Experience in staff hiring and staff management
Knowledge in accreditation standards
Knowledge in ShulCloud is a plus
Experience developing a budget is a plus
