Reporting to and in partnership with the Executive Director (ED), the Senior Development Manager (SDM) will spearhead development efforts as JQ continues to grow. A new position in the organization, the SDM will have the opportunity to build the development function and oversee the Annual Fund Development Plan in partnership with Fund Development Committee (FDC). Organization has experienced a period of rapid growth. Revenues for the current year exceed $600,000.
Manage, maintain, and execute Annual Fund Development Plan
Partner with and support ED and FDC on all fundraising efforts
Support maintenance of all Board documents, records, and Give/Get commitments
Major Donor Cultivation and Solicitation (55%)
Secure financial support from individuals, foundations, and corporations
Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with major donors
Manage organization’s Moves Management and pipeline stewardship of donors
Identify and steward major donors and prospective board members in conjunction with ED
Utilize Board Members and stakeholders to engage new supporters
Partner with professionals and oversee strategic implementation of fund development events and campaigns
Execute in partnership with FDC a strategy for a sustained base of annual individual donors
Oversee strategy and execution of special events
Represent JQ at private/public functions as needed
Grants and Sponsorship Strategy and Management (15%)
Oversee grant research strategy and pipeline management
Develop and track proposals and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraising
Technology, Data Management, and Communications Management (10%)
Manage organization’s donor technology
Oversee staff execution of data entry and gift processing
Create and develop donor related communications strategy, communications, and content
5-plus years experience in development or sales
Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills
Knowledge of CRM/Donor Database technology
Passion for JQ’s mission and alignment with core values
Experience working with the LGBTQ+ ally community
Experience working with the Jewish community
Experiences with Moves Management and donor pipeline management
Work environment, schedule, and compensation
40 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends. Flexible work environment includes JQ’s WeHo headquarters JQlub, plus meeting and event sites throughout Greater Los Angeles. Salary commensurate with experience.
