Reporting to the Director of BJE Teen Experiential Education Programs, the Program Assistant is responsible for all aspects of registration and record keeping relating to BJE-operated teen experiential education programs (currently, BJE March of the Living and Summer Teen Service Corps). This is a multi-faceted role, including -- but not limited to -- considerable phone communication, record-keeping, and billing and collection of program fees. The program assistant maintains and organizes all application, registration and financial aid materials; relates to phone inquires; receives and tracks payments; ensures that all required forms are completed and on file in a timely manner; handles and fulfills orders for program-related gear; organizes and maintains program materials and office spaces; assists with program logistics; and performs such other duties as might be required.
The position requires excellent oral and written communication skills, sensitivity to confidentiality of communications (including financial and medical information), excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as a member of a team, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, considerable patience, strong analytical & problem solving skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Customer service experience, familiarity with CampMinder (program registration platform) and knowledge of L.A. Jewish community are desirable.
