The Western Region Assistant supports the daily operations of Birthright Israel Foundation's Western Region Office via operational responsibilities including database support, special events planning and execution, and administrative tasks. Reports To: Associate Vice President, Western Region
Work with Western Region team to support fundraising strategy and activities;
Maintain donor database — Keep data current by following established data entry protocols, removing duplicate records, updating and tracking individual relationships, and running queries and exports;
Assist western regional fundraising team with portfolio evaluation and moves management process;
Process donations including entering gifts into the gift processing form, transmitting payments and payment information to Finance;
Track pledges and other special gifts;
Implement database queries and data exports, manipulate data in excel spreadsheets;
Plan and execute local small-scale events and projects;
Coordinate larger regional events in partnership with the national events team;
Manage schedules and travel itineraries for special guests and visitors;
Work with headquarters and other Regional Assistants to ensure consistency and quality of regional office operations;
Perform administrative tasks as needed, including preparing and sending mailings, compiling meeting materials, and scheduling appointments;
Assist with general support of the regional team as assigned by supervisor.
Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree
Skills and/or Experience Required:
3-5 years of experience in a related field;
Demonstrated interest in and enthusiasm for non-profit donor facing organization;
Skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel;
Knowledge of SalesForce or comparable donor database;
Exceptional organizational skills, and attention to detail, and ability to adhere to deadlines;
Exemplary skills in written and verbal communications and problem-solving;
Sensitivity to highly confidential information;
Highly energetic, positive, and proactive approach;
Ability to prioritize and execute responsibilities in the face of conflicting requests and fast paced work environment;
Ability to work independently and create and adhere to deadlines;
Willing to travel as needed for meetings and events within region.
Regularly required to speak clearly and hear the spoken word well;
Regularly required to physically operate routine office equipment such as telephones, computers, etc;
Regularly required to utilize near vision ability to read data and documents, including spreadsheets and reports, in printed form and on computer screens;
Ability to travel and valid driver's license.
Noise level is consistent with levels usually present in an office environment.
