Development Associate

Position Summary:
American Associates, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (AABGU) seeks a Development Associate who will help advance the mission of the organization by providing excellent fundraising and administrative support. The Development Associate will be based out of the New York office and will play an integral role on the Development Services team. This full-time position reports to the Director of Development Services and supports multiple fundraisers, both in person and virtually.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provides high-level administrative support to designated fundraisers, including proactive calendar management and preparation of donor solicitation materials
• Provides high-level customer service for donor and prospects and serves as a partner to the fundraisers in advancing overall donor stewardship and cultivation efforts
• Works with members of the Development Services team to conduct donor research and prepare donor profiles as necessary
• Ensures donor, prospect, and event specific information is timely and accurately recorded in donor database; adhering to a high degree of data integrity
• Processes incoming regional gifts and pledges and works in coordination with Database Administrator to ensure donor intent is actualized
• Expeditiously routes any donor payments to national office, ensuring compliance with all credit card and other data confidentiality regulations
• Manages organizational-wide donor correspondence, including but not limited to acknowledgment letters, invoices and tax receipts
• Generates personal thank you cards and other customized life cycle correspondence (e.g. Birthday cards, anniversary cards, etc.) on behalf of fundraising team
• Provides tactical regional event support, including pre-event recruitment calls, day of logistics and post event follow-up and analysis in coordination with Events Dept.

• Manages other day-to-day duties as assigned by fundraisers and/or Director of Development Services
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent field
• Minimum of two years of work experience, preferably in a nonprofit organization
• Commitment to excellence and acute attention to detail

• Strong organization, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Passion, enthusiasm, focus, creativity, and a positive outlook
• Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work in a constantly changing environment
• Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications is required. Database management experience preferred
