ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE MANAGER – Full Time

Temple Shalom of Central Florida is a reform congregation of 500 members in a beautiful 20-year-old building located in the fastest growing community in the United States, The Villages, Florida. Located an hour from Orlando and Tampa, The Villages is the largest retirement community in the world, and one of the safest places in Florida to live. Housing costs are reasonable, activities are plentiful with almost 800 holes of golf, hundreds of pickleball; and tennis courts and many community swimming pools and recreation centers. Several Jewish social clubs are also available. Temple Shalom is a welcoming congregation and pinnacle of Jewish life in Central Florida.

Purpose of the Role:

  • Manage and direct all aspects of the Temple office administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and organize office operations, maintain records and databases.
  • Provide membership support all within a busy office environment.
  • Manage monthly newsletter publication, Emails, flyers, letters, calendar, and phone calls.
  • Manage booking and calendar management for Shabbat, Festivals, and special events.
  • Supervise the cadre of volunteers supporting the Temple office.
  • Assist the Treasurer regarding invoices, donations, and timecards.
  • Interact with all vendors supporting the Temple.

Skills & Experience needed:

  • Experience as an administrator within a busy office environment.
  • Must have excellent IT skills (including Word, Outlook, Publishing, MailChimp, and Excel).
  • Experience with databases and Newsletter creation; monthly newsletter and flyer publishing.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be a competent multi-tasker with acute attention to detail.
  • Possess initiative and efficiency with ability to work under pressure.
  • Prepared to undertake a wide range of tasks.
  • Previous employment in a Jewish organization, as well as knowledge of Rakefet, a plus.

Compensation: Full time position, $45 - 50k, Friday half-day, annual bonus plus secular and Jewish holidays with vacation.
