Camp Wonder is seeking a dedicated and passionate early elementary teacher to join our summer camp team. As a teacher in our camp, you will be responsible for a cohort campers between rising TK - 4th grades while also providing them literacy and math instruction in a fun and engaging way. The ideal candidate will have experience working with this age group in an academic setting, possess strong leadership skills, and the ability to be create a warm welcoming environment for our youngest campers.
Responsibilities:- Develop and implement engaging literacy and math lessons for early elementary aged children.- Manage the flow of the day with ease and grace.- Communicate and work closely with other TK/Kinder professional staff as well as counselors and CITs (Counselors In Training).- Lead at least one creative workshop for the TK/Kinder campers that is based on the theme of the current week/session.- Collaborate with other professional staff and possibly parents to address the individual needs of students.- Utilize early childhood education techniques to create a nurturing environment- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants by maintaining first aid knowledge- Utilize behavior management techniques to address challenging behaviors
Requirements:- Previous experience working with early elementary aged students in a similar capacity (school and/or camp)
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and staff members
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
