Description

The Jewish Community Action Network seeks a Community Outreach Coordinator for 20-30 hours/week, in support of its pro-Israel and Jewish community activities in Orange County, CA. 

The Community Outreach Coordinator will work closely with the organization’s Civic and Community Engagement Director to support research, training, education and relationship building in furtherance of our overall strategic priorities. The ideal team player must be self-motivated, enthusiastic, and able to establish and facilitate relationships with a broad cohort of community stakeholders.

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Build, expand and maintain the organization’s grassroots network to allow for streamlined communications and activation where and when needed; Coordinate mobilization of activists in important campaigns, including calls to action, letter writing and/or petitions.
  • Research and map elected offices, officials, candidates and related events to inform the organization in prioritizing its activities.
  • Maintain and share (as applicable) a calendar of community activities, including events, meeting agendas, workshops, appearances and other communication opportunities.
  • Develop email campaigns, brochures, and other marketing materials; Support the development and maintenance of the organization's website.
  • Coordinate and/or conduct educational workshops on relevant topics for elected officials and/or members of our community, providing resources and tools to empower them in their own actions.
  • Liaise with external consultants including PR, legal counsel, IT and others as required.
  • Maintain relationships with key professionals and lay leaders of the OC Jewish community to ensure seamless coordination of all efforts. Schedule meetings and outreach opportunities as needed.
  • Track programs’ progress to achieve goals, producing reports, and highlighting and adjusting plans as necessary; and
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Commitment to the Jewish and pro-Israel community, including a thorough understanding of all issues related to Jewish life, Israel, antisemitism and anti-Zionism.
  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, public relations, social services, or related field.
  • 2-3 years' experience in civic and/or community engagement is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational and management skills.
  • Experience with institutional databases, public access sites, and primary research skills.

 

Physical Requirements:
